Join Bluffton Public Library’s book discussion group as it follows Enaiatollah Akbari’s remarkable five year search for asylum. In the Sea there are Crocodiles, by Fabio Geda, is a true account of Enaiatollah’s dangerous escape from Afghanistan and is Bluffton Public Library’s next book discussion title.
The discussion will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Café in Bluffton.
A discussion of Tracy Kidder’s book “Strength in What Remains” will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m. Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton.
Copies of the book may be requested at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.
To celebrate Library Lovers’ Month, the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library is holding its annual membership drive. For a donation of $5, anyone can become a Friend of the Library.
Membership forms are available at the library’s circulation desk. Contributions will help maintain the programs and services the community of Bluffton expects from its library.

This year's cookoff is Saturday, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The library you to warm up with great chili and enjoy live music at its second annual “Cook for Books” Chili Cook-Off.
The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library has announced its meeting schedule for 2012. Meetings will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Riley Board Room at 145 South Main St., Bluffton. No meetings will take place in July or December.
Board members are Elizabeth Hostetler, president; Bob Beer, vice president; Carrie Phillips, secretary; Emily Goldsberry, Amy Lehman-Mikesell, Robert Scott and Nancy Yeager.
Board meetings are open to the public.
Bluffton Public Library invites you to warm up with great chili and enjoy live music at its second annual “Cook for Books” Chili Cook-Off. The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at 145 South Main St., Bluffton.
The Bluffton Public Library Teen Advisory Group (TAG) will celebrate Library Lovers Month with a youth book sale from Feb. 13-17. More than 1,000 “slightly or very loved” children’s and teen books will be available by donation during regular library hours.
In preparation for the film release in March, Bluffton Public Library will be hosting several programs based on the popular “Hunger Games” trilogy by Suzanne Collins.
Bluffton Public Library will host two special film screenings this month.
First, in celebration of Winnie the Pooh creator A.A. Milne’s birthday, a newly-released animated film will be shown on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 3:15 p.m. The movie is rated G with a run time of 63 minutes.
