This winter's soup and sandwich supper is from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St.
The event is hosted by the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service group. The supper is avialable for eating in or take out.
It’s not your ordinary pancake breakfast. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, at Maple Crest Senior Living, Bluffton, pancakes will “fly” right into your plate.
The breakfast, in the Patio Room of Maple Crest Senior Living, 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton, is a fundraiser for the Maple Crest Memory Garden Project, according to Laura Voth, CEO of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio.

Mennonite Home Health & Senior Services of Bluffton has received a zero (0) deficiency survey from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), according to Laura Voth, Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio CEO.
The state requires that all home health agencies are reviewed every 12 to 36 months. ODH completed its review of Mennonite Home Health and found no deficiencies or deficits, according to Voth.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Bluffton, is accepting applications for the Barbara Fleming Memorial Nursing Scholarship.
The scholarship is meant to promote the career of nursing. Therefore the scholarship money may be used toward a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a degree as a Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The scholarship is to be used to pay school related expenses toward any of these degrees.
A discussion of Nicholas Kristof’s book "Half the Sky" will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. (note time change, was originally 2:30 p.m.) Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton.
Copies of the book are available at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Two residents of Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, reached the century mark recently, according to Rhonda Wolpert, MMH administrator.
The two are Helen Pyatt, who turned 100 on Oct. 21 and Pauline Hirschler, who turned 100 on Dec. 20.

Helen was born in Bedford, Pa., and moved to Salem, Ohio, when she was 12 years old. In 1982 she moved to Ada. Helen has two daughters, Betty Lyons of Ada, and Marjorie Clingerman of Parker, Colo. She also has three grandsons.

Staff, administrators and board members of the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio spent Dec. 13-14 in the classroom to become better acquainted with The Green House ® Project.
The two-day sessions provided staff, administrators and board members the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Green House Model and helped created a better understanding of core Green House principles. Leading the sessions were Lisa Maxwell and Heather Marshall from The Green House Project, headquartered in Arlington, Va.
