Carlen said that the pay for this area of the country for an enumerator (census data taker) is $12.25/hour + $.50/mile reimbursement. Federal benefits (food stamps, WIC, etc.) are not affected due to the temporary nature of the Census positions.

Hiring will continue until the end of February.

Hiring is the main concern for now because of the lack of response from interested applicants.

From March until July the concern will be the lack of response from individuals to fill out there Census Questionairres.
