Applications are open for Lima/Allen County Poet Laureate 

The Lima City Council has approved the initiative for a second Lima Poet Laureate term. The Poet Laureate will serve a two-year term and help promote the art of poetry and encourage literacy and learning throughout Lima and Allen County. 

The Lima Poet Laureate will create projects for the two-year term and engage with a variety of constituencies, enriching the lives of residents by sharing and promoting poetry through public appearances, readings, workshops, and digital/social media.  

Applications are due by April 8 and are  available at ArtSpace/Lima, 65 Town Square, or on their website at  www.artspacelima.com.  

The Lima Poet Laureate will have an office at ArtSpace, and you can call  ArtSpace for more details at 419-222-1721

Easter Sunday services at Trinity Lutheran

Easter Sunday will be celebrated at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, with two services. The Sunrise Service begins at 6:30 a.m. and the festival service begins at 9:30 a.m. on March 31. (They are identical services.)

PHOTO County Line pathway in the making

Construction of the County Line Road extension of the Bluffton Bike and Pedestrian Pathway has begun. Drainage work is complete and preparation is underway for paving. The new path is located on the north side of the road from Jefferson St. to College Ave.

Bluffton hotel to be converted to Holiday Inn Express

Reservations by phone only during system transfer

The hotel at 117 Commerce Lane, Bluffton will be converted to a Holiday Inn Express, according to Najam Saleem. During the transition from Comfort Inn to Holiday Inn Express, reservations must be made by calling 419-358-6000.

The transition from one reservation system to another is expected to take some 2-3 months. After April 1 online reservations will be temporarily unavailable.
