Births announced at Bluffton Hospital in January

Here's the list of babies born at Bluffton Hospital, reported to the Icon for the last month. 

Jan. 10 – Hazel Nicole, daughter of Ian and Michelle Stuhler, Findlay.

Jan. 14 – Charlotte Louise, daughter of Adam and Dynasty Crow, Bluffton.

Jan. 14 – Paris Jean, daughter of Scott and Emily Kempf, Ottawa.

Jan. 21 – Ava, daughter of Rob and Dana Shardy, Lima.

Jan. 24 – Kinsly Renee, daughter of Austin Dysert and Makenna Callahan, Ada.

Jan. 25 – Azekiel Robert, son of Luke and Corinne Boes, Forest.

2019 village building permits reached $2.4 million

52 permits included 4 residential, 11 commercial/industrial, 2 demolitions, 35 other projects

Bluffton’s 2019 building permits totaled $2.4 million, according to information provided to the Icon by the Village of Bluffton.

The 52 building permits totaled $2,429,713, breaking down in the following categories:
• $1,153,000 – residential (4 projects)
• $796,281 – commercial/industrial (11 projects)
• $17,000 – demolitions (2 projects)
• $464,432 – other (35 projects)

Bluffton Writers Group meets second Monday

The Bluffton Writers Group will now meet at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month at Maple Crest, Augsburger Road, Bluffton. Victoria Woods-Yee is the leader and contact person of the group. Contact Victoria at [email protected] for more information. New members are welcome.

Sign-up underway for Feb. 29 BFR coed softball tourney

Don't forget the pickelball tournament Feb. 16

The next Bluffton Family Recreation off the wall coed softball tournament is Saturday, Feb. 29. It is for four men and two women per team. Registration deadline is one week before each tournament.

A Sunday, Feb. 16, pickleball tournament is also on the calendar. It has the following divisions:
• Men's and women's singles
• Men's and women's doubles
• Mixed doubles
Deadline to register is Sunday, Feb. 9.
