Top nine items to keep in your medicine cabinet

Here are nine products to consider stocking in your medicine cabinet to keep yourself and your family healthy.

1. Pain and fever reducer

If you have pain or a fever, having acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) in your medicine cabinet is important.

When taking these medications, do not exceed the recommended daily amounts. Taking more than recommended can be harmful.

Pirates win NWC opener in 61-44 Ada victory

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton ran out to a sizeable halftime lead and posted a 61-44 win over local rival Ada in the Northwest Conference boys basketball opener for both teams Friday night.

The Pirates improved to 3-0 and 1-0 in league play with the victory, while the Bulldogs fell to 1-4 and 0-1 with the defeat.

Bluffton extended a six-point first period lead to 15 at halftime with a 19-10 second period outburst. The Pirates essentially maintained that lead the rest of the way to win by 17.

OHSAA okays new “feeder” school option

For non-public schools

Based on action taken by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Board of Directors during a special conference call meeting on Dec. 9, OHSAA non-public schools will now have another option available to select their “designated” feeder schools for Competitive Balance rostering purposes.  

The new option – specific to the Tier 1 factor in Competitive Balance – will permit non-public schools to utilize all elementary schools of the same system of education that are physically located within a 12.5-mile radius of the high school as designated feeder schools.

There are different types of urinary incontinence, including stress incontinence, overflow incontinence, urge incontinence or the most common type, mixed incontinence, which is a combination of all types.

It's time to enter the Icon college football holiday bowl contest

19 bowl games played from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2 in the mix

Bluffton and Ada Icon announce its College Football Bowl Contest, open to all viewers.

The contest includes 19 bowl games played between Dec. 26 (Quick Lane Bowl) and Jan. 2 (Gator Bowl). Contestants may enter as often as they like. Contestants entering more than one time must use a different name on each additional entry. 

Prizes are still be collected. One overall winner will be announced. In the event of a tie, the contestant with the earliest entry will be declared the winner.
