Bluffton's Fall Festival makes you feel good about living in a small town

The weather was perfect and the crowds huge. You couldn't ask for more. Bluffton unrolled its red carpet to visitors on Saturday. This year's Bluffton's Fall Festival was a big hit.

Events took place at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton Family Recreation, Maple Crest, Bluffton Hospital, Farmers' Market downtown and the Swiss Community homestead.

With so many photo possibilities, the Icon will spread out its coverage of the weekend.

Suter's Produce offers a Maze of fall features

Pirate Trails and Treasures II will keep corn maze fans busy this month. 

The maze, at Suter’s Produce, 12200 Pandora Road, opened in mid-September and continues until its last day on Oct. 31.

Suter’s offers lots more than their traditional corn maze.

Other features include a hayride, corn cannons, giant tube slide, human hamster wheels, pumpkins, cider press and apples.

Saturdays and Sundays 1 to 8 p.m.
(Last admission at 7 p.m.)

Cold starting perennials topic of Oct. 6 gardener meeting

The Gardners of the Bluffton Pandora Area will meet at 6:30 p.m, Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the Bluffton Public Library meeting room.

Ann Brickner of the Perennial Plant Peddler will discuss how to cold start perennials.

PrimeTimers meet on Oct. 6

PrimeTimers Fellowship will meet for a noon lunch on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 2, Pandora.

The monthly lunch is open to all adults 55 and over. Entertainment is provided by Lauren Brooke and Sisters.

The meal includes meat with vegetable lasagna, green bean with almonds, mixed salad with maple dressing, breadsticks, pumpkin roll with homemade whipped cream and coffee.

The Bluffton High School football team is ranked 11th in Region 22 of this week's Ohio high school football computer rankings.
