Robert E. Wagner, 89, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at 11:01 a.m. at his residence in Ada, surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born on June 9, 1930, in Hancock County, Ohio, to Louie P. and Helen K. (Nusbaum) Wagner who preceded him in death. On June 25, 1950, he married Twila L. Henry and she survives in Ada.
Robert formerly worked at the Triplett Electric of Bluffton in the Engineering Department from 1948 to 1953 and he was a lifelong farmer. He was a lifetime member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. Robert was a 1948 graduate of Ada High School.

Kevin Nickel says he’s the village bill payer. But, as the new village fiscal officer, he covers many more bases that just balancing the town check book.
He was hired by the village on July 31 following a search to replace Laura Ewing, who resigned this spring after holding the position since September 2017. His salary is $60,000 annually.

High school students are invited to learn more about Bluffton University’s Educator Preparation Program, the demands and rewards of teaching, and career routes for education majors during a special event for high school juniors and seniors hosted by the Bluffton Education Organization (BEO).
The 50-member student organization will lead activities and discussion sessions during the Wednesday, Oct. 30 event. Starting at 10 a.m. with registration, the event also includes a meal and mini tour of campus.

The weather was picture perfect. Saturday's Fall Festival couldn't have scheduled better weather. One of the family-oriented events at Mennonite Memorial Home was a photo booth with a fall theme. Here's a photo of a photo being taken there.
The Gardeners of the Bluffton-Pandora Area hold their next meeting tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Bluffton Public Library, lower level meeting room at 6:30 p.m. Ray Person will be speaking about growing and using garlic.
Anyone interested in joining the club is encouraged to come. This meeting is open to the public.
