Pandora invites Icon viewers to its two-day Riley Creek Festival, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7-8.

Here's a summary of events:

Icon will disable "Comment" opportunities next week - all comments will become "Letters to the Editor"

Next week, The Icon will disable its "Comment" option on its stories for the time being. Viewers are welcome to make comments by emailing them to:

[email protected]

All e-mailed comments will be posted under "Letters." All letters must be signed by the writer. The Icon will also post the writer's hometown. When a hometown is not provided, The Icon will insert (hometown not provided by the writer) under the writer's name.

National Night Out: "WOW!"

Bluffton’s second-ever National Night Out in one word: “Wow!”

And, all of the events of the evening were donated by community business, industry and individuals.

The Bluffton Police Department in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department with assistance from Bluffton, Beaverdam and Pandora fire and EMS departments threw a party at the Bluffton Communtiy Swimming Pool on Aug. 4.

CSX rail crossing closures taking place in Findlay

The following City of Findlay railroad crossing closures will effect local firms, workforce and trucking companies in August.

See map below for detour.

CSX Railroad Crossing Closures:
• Hancock County Road 99 railroad crossing will be closed for three weeks until August 24 for repairs. The crossing is located south of the Whirlpool plant between Hancock County 220/North Main Street and Distribution Drive
• Hancock County Road 215 and 216 are expected to reopen very soon
