Community Assistance board meets Jan. 21

The Bluffton Community Assistance Program's board will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, according to Ed Yeager, board president.

The meeting is in the St. John's United Church of Christ, location of the program's food pantry.

Great Decisions start second season in Findlay

Programs at Hancock Historical Museum

The Findlay Chapter of Great Decisions will begin its second season with an introductory meeting on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Hancock Historical Museum, W. Sandusky Street.  Anyone interested in learning more about critical issues facing America is encouraged to attend.

Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs.  The program involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, watching a DVD and meeting in a discussion group.

Burton Yost funeral arrangements incomplete

Burton Yost, 90, of Bluffton died on Jan. 7, 2019, at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Norma Sue Ackerman, 81, of Bluffton died on Jan. 7, 2019. at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Swap night next week

Transition Bluffton says: "bring something to swap"

Transition Bluffton will host a Swap Night next week. The event is open to the public at no charge and will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the third floor meeting room of the Bluffton town hall

Bring new, unwanted items or gently used, no longer needed things to trade for something that you can use. Items for the swap will include:
• clothing
• small appliances
• tools
• books
• other miscellaneous items.

Bring items to trade between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Swapping begins at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Quiz bowl starts, volunteers needed, memory books coming

FIFTH GRADE QUIZ BOWL SEASON:  Jan. 14 is the first Quiz Bowl match. All matches will be held at Shawnee Middle School.
