Two BHS girls at Girls' State; two BHS boys at Boys' State this week

Two Bluffton High School girls are attending Buckeye Girls’ State at the University of Mount Union, Alliance, this week, while two boys are attending Buckeye Boys’ State at Bowling Green State University.

The students are Megan Sycks and Marley Runk at Girls’ State and Conner Dawson and Trevor Bunch at Boys’ State.

The four students will be seniors in August at BHS.

Great day for a birthday party

Saturday was a great day for a birthday party. Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co. even closed Main Street for its special celebration.

Charles Krohn owned Country Farm Supply in Pandora

Charles K. Krohn, 86, died June 11, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.  Charles was born April 25, 1930, in Pandora to the late Frank and Lillian (Hilty) Krohn. On July 28, 1951 he married Leila "Nancy" Shirk Krohn and she survives. 

Charles was a farmer and owned and operated Country Farm Supply in Pandora.  He was a member of Pandora Missionary Church, the Goldwing Club and Good Sam Club. Charles graduated from Pandora High School and attended Ft. Wayne Bible College.

Community Assistance Corp. board meets June 20

The Bluffton Community Assistance Corp. will meet Monday, June 20, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Food Pantry of the St. John's United Church of Christ, according to Ed Yeager, board president.

Pandora free community meal on June 29

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, June 29,  from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. 

The meal this month is provided  by Riley Creek Pharmacy. The menu is hamburger/hot dogs, baked beans, assorted salads, dessert, and beverages.
