Mercy Health-Home Health named a top agency

2019 ABILITY HomeCare Elite

Home Health Lima was named a Top Agency of the 2019 HomeCare Elite, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. 

For 14 years, HomeCare Elite has annually identified the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies and highlighted the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall.

The ranking is developed by ABILITY Network, a leading information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of healthcare. It is sponsored by DecisionHealth, part of the H3.Group.

Bluffton couple purchases Richard Boehr block

Liz and Bob Gordon-Hancock: “We want to invest and become involved in the community"

A Bluffton couple, Bob and Elizabeth Gordon-Hancock, have purchased the Richard Boehr block, which includes apartments, office and business space on the corner of Main and Vine streets. The transaction took place in mid-December.

The building's front address is 125 N. Main St. The building stretches all along the north side of Vine Street and includes the addresses of 105,107 and 111 Vine St. 

The building has three residential upstairs apartments, three office units and a front retail space, currently unoccupied, which at one time housed First National Bank of Bluffton.

Drive Time Driving Instruction relocates to North Main Street

Will hold open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, Jan. 16.

Earlier this fall, Drive Time Driving Instruction relocated its offices from Diamond Manufacturing  to 546 N. Main St. where it will host an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, Jan. 16, according to Sara and Doug Kisseberth, owners.

The open house is from 3 to 5 p.m. and the ribbon cutting is at 4 p.m. The new location is in the former Habegger Garage. Most recently it served as a storage location for Tommy’s Tires.

Fifth birthday celebration

Beth Bish, pediatric nurse practitioner with Bluffton Pediatrics, invited Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members to help celebrate the medical practice's fifth birthday on Friday morning.  Bish was the featured speaker at the chamber breakfast and updated chamber members on the growth of the practice.

Bluffton council's first meeting of 2020 takes place at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 13, in th third floor of the town hall.

Lady Pirates knocked off by Paulding 2nd half

Laykin Garmatter led all scorers with 22 points

PAULDING - Host Paulding outscored Bluffton 41-19 in the second half to rally for a 62-46 Northwest Conference girls basketball victory Thursday night.

Bluffton led 12-9 after one period and extended their edge to 27-21 at halftime as Laykin Garmatter splashed five first-half triples. 

But the Lady Pirates scored just five third-period points and got outscored 27-14 in the final stanza to lose by 16.
