BHS boys rally to win in second OT over South Range in DIII state semis

DOYLESTOWN - The Bluffton boys soccer team came from behind to nip third-ranked Canfield South Range 2-1 in double overtime of the Div. III state semifinals Wednesday evening at Doylestown Chippewa High School.

Bluffton's 75th anniversary social work celebration

Established in 1944, nearly 700 university alumni have graduated with a social work degree

Established as a program in 1944, nearly 700 Bluffton alumni have graduated with a social work degree.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the major on campus, Bluffton University faculty, students and alumni are coming together for a series of events to highlight the career field including an Oct. 29 Forum.

Bluffton artist has three works in Findlay Art League show

Bluffton resident Pauline Kinsinger Edie Watts had three art pieces accepted int the Findlay Art League juried November Fall 2019 show. 

The three works are in oils.  "Charlie" the turtle and "Fins Up" the Siamese Fighting Fish both took about three plus months to complete. The wave is titled "Light Breaker."

Last night over 5,000 viewers across the globe watched the Division III boys' soccer semi-final state tournament Bluffton win over South Range. Viewing from the comfort of your home is thanks to this Pirate fan. He's Tyler Chamberlain, a Bluffton Family Recreation staff member. He's the color man, announcer and videographer, and a one-of-a-kind voice for the Pirates. Interested in watching the state finals? Crime Victim Services volunteer guardianship info session on Nov. 12

The next Crime Victim Services information session on volunteer guardianship is Tuesday, Nov. 12, according to Elysia Bush of Bluffton, director, Elderly Victim Ministry and CVS Guardian Programs.

The sessions take place in the CVS training room, 220 N. Elizabeth St., Lima. This session is from noon to 1 p.m.

Bush said, “Helping a vulnerable person live to that person’s full potential deepens the reach of Allen and Putnam County’s caring community."

Chris Driesbach performs at Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Evangelical Church hosts Chris Driesbach on Sunday, Nov. 10 at both 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. At 9:20 a.m., Driesbach will share his presentation "A visit with a Christian song writer and former atheist."

Driesbach is a Christian musician, who travels the nation sharing his journey from atheist to Christian songwriter. He's originally from New Orleans, where his home and church were nearly destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.  After rebuilding, Chris "hit the road" to share his message of thanks through music.
