Mark Albright services Saturday

S. Mark Albright, 61, of rural Ada died Oct. 20, 2019. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at First United Methodist Church in Bluffton. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service both at the church.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Sip and Shop Wednesday evening in Arlington

A fall sip and shop takes place in Hull's Trace Wine Cellar, 105 E. Liberty St., Arlington, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Attending the event include representatives from, Scentsy, Farmhouse 68 Boutique, Younique,Thirty-One Gifts, Colorstreet, Brooklyn's Boutique, Keep Collective, Wreaths by Julie, Hypnotiyzzer, Norwex, Pampered Chef, Poparrazi and Beautycounter.

School board picks Brad Dailey to replace Brad Fruchey

He will join the board in November

Brad Dailey of Bluffton was appointed to the Bluffton school board, which met last night (Nov. 21).

The board selected Dailey to complete the term of another, Brad...Brad Fruchey, who resigned in October. Dailey will be sworn in as a member in the November board meeting.

Dailey is the assistant manager of the Glandorf Feed Co.

His term will run through Dec. 31, 2021. Watch the Icon for an interview with the new board member to be posted soon.

Cars and coffee event Saturday

The last Bluffton Cars and Coffee event for this season is Saturday, Oct. 26, at Masterpiece Signs, 902 N. Main St.

The event is an “informal gathering for enthusiasts and their cars," said Tim Boutwell. This is a monthly event, held May through October, on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Each event is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Fall choral concert at Bluffton University Oct. 27

Bluffton University will host a fall choral concert featuring University Chorale and Camerata Singers at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, in Yoder Recital Hall.

You will have an enjoyable afternoon listening to our University Chorale and Camerata Singers under the leadership of director of choral activities, Dr. Bo young Kang.

This event is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken for music scholarships.

University visit from Grammy nominee Kendall Nesbitt

Oct. 28 demonstration at digital music lab unveiling

Bluffton University’s music department will host a reception for the opening of its Digital Music Lab at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.

The lab features Mac mini computers with various programs to create anything from written scores to EDM (electronic dance music). These programs include Logic Pro, Sibelius, Finale, GarageBand and Ableton Live, just to name a few.
