Planning commission meets Aug. 10

Bluffton Planning Commission will meet Monday, Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m.  in the town hall at 154 N. Main St., according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.

Governor DeWine, First Lady Fran DeWine, and staff all test negative for COVID-19

In a second test administered today in Columbus, Governor Mike DeWine has tested negative for COVID-19. First Lady Fran DeWine and staff members have also all tested negative for COVID-19.

A PCR test was administered to the Governor and members of his staff this afternoon.  The PCR test looks for the specific RNA for the SARS CoV-2 -- in other words, the genetic material specific for the virus that causes COVID-19.

School releases free and reduced price meals guidelines

Bluffton schools announced its 2020-21 program year policy for free and reduced price meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

Ohio Gov. DeWine tests positive for covid-19

Today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine took a test for COVID-19 as part of the standard protocol to greet President Donald Trump on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. 

Governor DeWine tested positive.  Governor DeWine has no symptoms at the present time.

Governor DeWine is returning to Columbus where he and First Lady Fran DeWine, who also has no symptoms, will both be tested.

Governor DeWine plans to follow protocol for COVID-19 and quarantine at his home in Cedarville for the next 14 days.

Covid-19 testing guidance for patients and employers

From Bluffton Hospital and BVHS

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is encouraging individuals to work with their primary care providers to order the COVID-19 test, if needed.

BVHS is collecting outpatient COVID-19 samples with a provider order at the Findlay and Bluffton campuses. These samples are collected by appointment only.

Individuals who have been exposed to COVID-19 or are having symptoms related to COVID-19 are also able to be evaluated at Physicians Plus Urgent Care and COVID-19 testing may be ordered and completed onsite.

Around the world wine sampling Aug. 28 at The Inn at ONU

The Inn at ONU, Ada, will hold an around the world wine sampling from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28.

The evening includes a variety of appetizers and desserts and wine commentary by Sommelier Kevin Boehm. There will also be musical entertainment. Wine is available for purchase during the evening. 

Admission is $32 per person and that includes five wine samples from a selection of eight wines unique to the Inn.

The event is designed to meet proper safety and social distancing guidelines. Mask are required exept during dining.
