Covid-19 vaccine - as things roll out

Research continues to maximize the doses available in the U.S.

It has been over a month since the COVID-19 vaccines have received FDA emergency use authorization (EUA). 

What have we learned about the vaccines as the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States are increasing? 

Many health care workers and long-term care residents have been receiving the vaccine with some completing the 2-part vaccine series. A government working group designed the plan to distribute the vaccine.

Ministerial Association will share video among its congregations

As an observance of Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Bluffton Area Ministerial Association, BAMA, invites the community to join together during Week of Prayer and Christian Unity Jan. 18 to 25.

In recent years, the BAMA pastors marked the week with an annual pulpit exchange.

“In the exchange, congregations welcome a pastor from another local church to lead worship, demonstrating the importance of strong ecumenical relationships within the body of Christ, the universal Church,” said Rev. Karol Farris Schilling, pastor of Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

Remembering Jo Croft

Jo Anna (Diller) Croft, 79, of Bluffton, died Jan. 13, 2021. Click here for her obituary. The following thoughts and memories were provided by her family

Jo was kind and loving, she exuded warmth and set all at ease with her calming demeanor.

She was raised in Bluffton and graduated with a teaching degree from Bluffton University. Jo was beloved by students in her elementary and Montessori school classrooms.

Jo Anna (Diller) Croft, 79, of Bluffton, died Jan. 13, 2021, surrounded by family. Jo was born July 10, 1941, to Archie and Velma Diller.

She was raised in Bluffton and graduated with a teaching degree from Bluffton University. On Aug. 4, 1990, she married Bill Croft and they were married 30 years.

Vaccines to 80 and older start next week

In coordination with the state roll out of COVID-19 vaccine, several area health care providers will begin administering vaccine to those age 80 and older starting next week, by appointment only.  

Allen County Public Health will maintain a list on their website and update it as providers are identified in the county. Click here for the website.
