When an elective surgery is scheduled, you will be contacted to set up a pre-surgery health interview.
This process is important to make sure you are properly prepared and informed for the upcoming surgery. This interview can be done in person or by phone. This type of screening was implemented many years ago to improve patient care before and after surgical procedures.
FDA approves test that can detect both COVID-19 and flu

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for a third combination test for COVID-19 and the flu.
This new test is found under the name Influenza SARS-CoV-2 (Flu SC2) Multiplex Assay.
The FDA previously issued EUAs to BioFire Diagnostics LLC and QIAGEN GmbH for their combination tests. These particular combination tests can help identify other respiratory organisms in addition to the viruses that cause the flu and COVID-19.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s fall sports of girls tennis, girls and boys golf, field hockey, girls and boys soccer, girls and boys cross country, volleyball and football officially begin practice Saturday, Aug. 1.

Briana Renae Schmidt, 12, died July 31, 2020, at Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital in Toledo. Briana was born on Nov. 10, 2007. in Bluffton.
Briana attended Bluffton Elementary School where she would have been a seventh grader. She attended Tri-County Family Assembly of God and Pleasant View United Methodist Church both of Bluffton. Briana enjoyed playing soccer, practicing gymnastics and art. She was described as a very energetic and out-going child and a friend who will be remembered for her smile.
Two sets of limestone steps lead to the bank of Little Riley Creek. Forgotten today, the steps are accessible from Campus Drive. Constructed by Ray Triplett, who lived across the street from the steps in the 1930s, they are a curiosity in 2020.
