Bluffton crawdad

That's crawdad alright. One of the Bluffton Family Recreation summer camper holds the critter found in the Marsh Run. He showed it to the Icon photographer and then returned it to the stream. On Friday campers enjoyed some time exploring the Marsh Run under Benroth Bridge.

ALMOST FAMOUS is the coming-of-age story of William Miller (PATRICK FUGIT), a 15-year old aspiring music journalist who goes on tour to cover an up-and-coming band for Rolling Stone magazine (note: Rolling Stone doesn’t know he’s 15). The film turns 20 years old this year, which is as good an excuse as any to pack up and hit the road with Stillwater.

As coronavirus cases continue to increase, the search for an effective treatment also continues.

Many potential COVID-19 medications have made the news over the last several months. Recently, for example, remdesivir was granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the treatment of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with severe illness.

However, the data for remdesivir is mixed. And not all hospitals can get this medication.

You may be thinking, “What kind of healthcare would I choose if I became ill? Who would make my decisions for me if I can’t speak for myself?” Advance care planning and completion of advance directives can ensure that your choices are explored, communicated and documented.

English Lutheran begins in-person worship again on July 12

English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., Bluffton,  will begin in-person worship again Sunday, July 12.

Worship, with COVID-19 social distancing seating and other precautions in effect, will take place simultaneously live in the sanctuary (face-masks required for ages 8 and up), and live-streamed on Facebook in the fellowship hall (face masks encouraged, but optional), beginning at 9 a.m. 

Those unable to attend in-person may follow us the service Facebook page. Please note that the church’s Sunday School program is still suspended.

Linda Burchett 1947 - 2020

Linda Marie Burchett, 73, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Linda was born March 17, 1947, in Findlay, to the late Edward "Eddie" and Marcella "Sally" (Zechman) Riffle. On June 27,1969, she married Richard Burchett  who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1992. 

Linda was a graduate of Findlay High School. She enjoyed scrap booking, fishing, cooking and her cooking gadgets.
