It's a beautiful summer day in downtown Bluffton. And, just look at the price of gas: $2.14.9. With prices this high you might consider getting gas in Ada where it's only $2.05.9. (see photo below)

Apollo board considers school bus purchase

Apollo Career Center board of education will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at Apollo.

One of the items on the agenda is to accept a bid from Cardinal Bus for a 72-passenger school bus at $75,178.

Ada-made NFL footballs will have microchips for preseason games

FOLLOW STORY FROM WWW.NLF.COM - According to NFL spokesman Michael Signora, the league will use microchips in footballs during the preseason as part of the next phase of the Next Gen Stats player tracking project.

The footballs are manufactured in Wilson's Ada plant.

A chip will be placed in every ball during the preseason.

Technicality halts attempt to place water surcharge ordinance on November ballot

The petition to referend Bluffton Ordinance 9-16 – surcharge on water and sewer customers - has failed to meet requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, according to Stephen Chamberlain, Bluffton solicitor.

Chamberlain informed the group filing the petition that the group failed to file a certified copy of the ordinance prior to circulating the referendum petition. Failure of the action, according to Chamberlain, voids the petitions.

The petitions were filed with the village on July 18. On July 21, Chamberlain notified those submitting the petitions of its failure.

Riley Creek Arbor hosts family movie night July 26

Riley Creek Arbor 797, a recently formed Bluffton organization, will host a family movie night, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church Crossroads Ministry Center, 8905 Columbus Grove Road, according to Gary Reese.

The free family movie is "When the Games Stands Tall."

There will be free popcorn and soft drinks available. Persons attending are asked to bring a donation to an area crisis pregnanc center. These items could include cash, diapers, formula or other baby items.

Hilty Home cruise-in tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.

Hilty Home, Pandora's second annual cruise-in takes place Thursday, July 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Home front parking lot. Hilty Home is located 304 Hilty Drive, just off State Route 12, west of Pandora.

The event is hosted by Ottawa's Four Deuces Car Club. The cruise-in includes food, music and free admission.
