June 9 Beaverdam Bunch report

  • The Beaverdam Bunch had their first group of demonstrations on June 6.
  • The last day for Jr. Fair entries is July 1; be sure to sign up online before then.
  • You will also need to schedule special interest judging times online for August 18.
  • Livestock exhibitors need to schedule a time slot for judging on August 13. All judging will be held at the fairgrounds.

Free Pandora concert to feature '60s Survivor Band

A free outdoor concert will be held from 7:00-9:30 p.m. on June 24 at the Pandora Community Center (Arthur-Lugibihl Community Center), 301 N. Jefferson St.

The concert features the '60s Survivors Band, playing “Fun Music From the '60s Decade."

What if it rains? A backup date of Saturday, June 25 has also been announced.

Invitation to support Bluffton-Pandora National Night Out

Fun-filled event with local first responders

The Bluffton and Pandora Police Departments, as well as the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, are planning for the 8th annual National Night Out celebration to be held on Tuesday, August 2 at the Bluffton Community Pool. The event is an opportunity for community members to enjoy a fun-filled evening with area first-responders including the Bluffton, Beaverdam and Pandora police, fire and EMS departments.

Last Saturday, June 4, was high time for a Bluffton Arts & Craft Show. After two gap years, the event returned in a new location and with a new host: Blended Roots at 246 Cherry St. and the neighboring grassy area along Little Riley Creek.

Explosion on SR 103 destroys home; two bodies reported

UPDATED 8:55 a.m. June 9

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, an explosion shook the Bluffton area. Responders including Bluffton Fire and EMS were on the scene, where photos show the home at 2275 SR 103 was totally destroyed.

The Ohio Fire Marshal's office has issued the following information:

"Cause is under investigation and investigator cannot eliminate propane gas leak as cause at this time. No evidence or indication of criminal activity.

Sweet summer smiles, local strawberries

Madison Zimmerly and Avery Traxler sell a taste of summer by the bucketful. When the Icon stopped by the Suter Produce red barn on SR 103 at I-75, they said the local strawberry season will last some three weeks.
