Pauline M. Lutz Hirschler

Pauline M. Lutz Hirschler, 100 of Bluffton died Aug. 2, 2012 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born in Lima on Dec. 20, 1911, to Alarta and Tymah Fay Roush Lutz.
She married Alfred E. Hirschler on June 30, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1972. They lived most of their married life in Springfield, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia.
Pauline returned to Ohio in 1998. She graduated from Central High School in Columbus and Bowling Green State University. She attended additional classes at Ohio University. She taught school for two years in a one-room schoolhouse in Allen County and also three years at Horace Mann School in Lima prior to her marriage.
In Pennsylvania she was active in a number of organizations including the Women's Club, Garden Club, Art Goes to School, Art Guild and enjoyed bowling. She had a deep interest and talent in her oil and watercolor classes as well as egg decorating. She was also quite active in her church.
Survivors include a daughter Marilyn (Gary) Bishop of Bluffton; three grandchildren Jeffrey (Kathy) Bishop of Bluffton, Daniel (Carola Cornejo) Bishop of Denver, Colo., Emily (Jon) Emery of Beavercreek, Ohio, and six great grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. William Herr officiating. Graveside services will be held in Glenwood Memorial Park, Broomall, Pa.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Home Communities Green House Project 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton, Ohio 45817.
