Fall festival activities at Schumacher homestead on hold

For the safety of docents and visitors, the Swiss Community Historical Society has put programming on hold including August Saturday open houses at the Schumacher Homestead and the annual Fall Festival.
Currently, society members and local history buffs are sharing photos and genealogy tips on the Swiss Community Historical Society Facebook.

State Representative Bob Cupp (R-Lima) was elected as the new Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives on July 30.
“I am deeply grateful to have earned the support of my fellow colleagues who have entrusted me with the position of Speaker of the House. It is a great privilege to lead this chamber, and I pledge to do so honorably, fairly and humbly,” Cupp said in remarks to the House.
For several years the Icon's attempt to befriend Bluffton's Big Bird, the great blue heron, have failed. Here's proof of a recent attempt at a conversation at the Bentley Road bridge last week.
Bluffton Public Library’s Summer Program, “Imagine Your Story,” ends Aug. 15.
