Bluffton defense stymies Musketeers

FT. JENNINGS - Visiting Bluffton suffocated Ft. Jennings and posted a 47-25 non-conference boys basketball win Saturday evening.

Bluffton led 11-7 after the first quarter, but extended the margin to 25-9 at halftime by limiting the Musketeers to just two points in the second period. 

The Pirates outscored the hosts 18-4 in the third quarter to build a commanding 43-13 cushion.

Bluffton improved to 10-1 overall with the lopsided win, their third victory in a row. Meanwhile, FJ fell to 1-11 with the defeat.

Several December arrests of driving without a valid license

Cases pending in Lima Municipal Court

Bluffton police released its December docket, which follows. 

December 2
Officers arrested a Hillsboro resident for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the area of Bentley Road and Quarry Drive for a stop sign violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

December 6
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for OVI following a traffic stop in the area of Bentley Road and Gratz Road for an equipment violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

Bluffton Hospital's new year's baby

The first baby of 2020 has arrived at Bluffton Hospital. Born Jan. 10 at 9:16 a.m. Parents Ian and Michelle Stuhler as well as big brother, Deacon, of Findlay,  welcomed baby Hazel Nicole. She weighs 7 pounds, 10 ounces and is 19 ¾ inches long. 
 

U.S. 30 eastbound rest area closed this week

The rest areas on U.S. 30 eastbound, between Cairo and Beaverdam will close on Tuesday, Jan. 14 for concrete repairs, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. The rest area is expected to reopen Friday, Jan. 17. 

The work is being performed by Armcorp Construction, Inc., Celina.

Village to replace over 1,400 water meters in 2020

Two property purchases announced on Monday

This story was updated Tuesday evening, Jan. 14 - The Bentley Road realignment will not affect any residences. It will simply make the the approach to Main Street connect directly across from Parkview Drive.

A water meter replacement project involving over 1,400 meter will take place in 2020 by the village.
