Sprunger collaborates with BVHS on Health Connect podcast

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has launched a podcoast featuring connections between its services and the communities it serves. Health Connect will spotlight new physicians/providers and technology, untangle the complexities of healthcare, and give listeners a glimpse into healthcare offerings in Northwest Ohio. 

The first episode was released on April 18. “Health Connect” is available on major podcasting platforms and the BVHS website. Episodes are about 20 minutes long,

This series is co-hosted by Eric Proctor, chief people officer at BVHS, and Sam Sprunger, a Bluffton podcaster. Proctor provides insights into the BVHS culture, career opportunities, and the unique stories of the organization’s patients, associates, and medical staff. Sprunger brings the layperson’s perspective, being outside the healthcare industry but eager to learn and help listeners understand.

ODOT kicks off 2024 construction season

Work zone safety emphasized; 43 ODOT crews struck so far in 2024

LIMA__The Ohio Department of Transportation officially kicked off highway construction season in northwest Ohio with a media event held at the County Road 99-Interstate 75 interchange in Findlay, where a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) will be constructed. The project will begin early this spring and conclude in 2026.

Notable highway projects in the Icon readership area:

  • U.S. 68/State Route 15 interchange ramp relocation and roundabout construction, Hancock County
  • U.S. 30 resurfacing between U.S. 68 and State Route 37, Hancock County

WORK ZONE SAFETY 

So far this year, 43 ODOT crews have been struck while working. This compares to 56 ODOT crews hit all of last year. 14 ODOT workers and nine contractors were injured in work zone crashes in 2023. Sadly, one contractor was killed.

GRAPHIC April 26-May 4 BHS Senior Art Exhibit

Bluffton High School seniors will be featured in an exhibit at Bluffton's Gallery  323 from April 26-May 4. Students involved are Theo Andreas, Ella Armstrong, Lauren Bassett, Jessica Boop, Brooke Camper, Sadie Combs, Caitlyn Couch, Hayden Dearth, Taylor Follas, Morgan Fruchey, Rylee Geesaman, Jasmine Hasting, Olivia Hobensack, Liam Jordan, Hope Miller, Ahri Secession, Gage VanAtta and Bella Wingate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Napoleon Rd. paving, April 22-23

The Allen County Engineer has announced that Napoleon Road, between Dixie Hwy and Sandusky Road, will be closed April 22-23 from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. for asphalt paving.
