Updated Village Income Tax information

It’s income tax filing time again. Below you will find important information regarding filing your 2023 Village of Bluffton Income Tax return.

Filing Deadline Date for 2023 Income Tax Returns: MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2024

WHO MUST FILE A RETURN?
The Village of Bluffton requires mandatory income tax filing by all full and part-year residents, age 18 or over, regardless of the amount of income they earned or lost in the case of a business. Even if your employer has fully withheld and paid in income tax to the Village of Bluffton or another municipality on your behalf, you are still required to file a Bluffton Income Tax return with the village annually. Any person or business located outside of Bluffton but performing services inside the village must also file a return. Anyone who receives income from rental properties, farm income, partnerships, self-employed business ventures, etc., must file an annual return regardless of any tax owed, even if there was a loss for the year.

April 2024 Beaverdam Bunch 4-H report

At the Beaverdam Bunch’s second meeting of 2024 we voted for officers. This meeting took place on Monday March 25 and was located in the Bluffton Middle School. Officers that were elected are as follows: President Brook, Vice President Peyton, Secretary Laney, News Reporter Rebecca, Safety Officer Addy, Health Officer Lyla, Recreation leaders Jace and Kaylyn.

Invitation to April 21 Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters retreat

The Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters are inviting quilters and sewists to their upcoming Quilting Retreat from Thursday, April 18 to Sunday, April 21 at the Harrod Event Center.

The center is located at 9520 Harrod Rd, Harrod, and the cost is $10/day.

Vim and vinegar: Health benefits

Vim and vinegar is a malapropism for the expression vim and vigor, which is a large amount of vitality and energy.  A malapropism is when a word is used by mistake in place of a similar sounding word.  In this case, vinegar for vigor.

Vinegars are the result of fermentation, giving the liquid its distinct smell. The use of vinegar has been recorded as far back as the third century BC. The key component to vinegar solutions is acetic acid. White vinegar is 5-10% acetic acid compared to apple cider vinegar, which is 5-6% acetic acid.
