New book is topic of editor’s program Nov. 8 at Musselman Library

Dr. Lamar Nisly, professor of English and associate dean of academic affairs at Bluffton University, will present a program Thursday, Nov. 8, on the recently published book that he edited, “Conversations with Tim Gautreaux.”

The event, also including a reception, is free and open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. in the Musselman Library Reading Room on the Bluffton campus.

In the book, published last month by the University Press of Mississippi, Nisly draws together 18 published interviews with Gautreaux—including one that he conducted with the Southern writer—between 1993 and 2009.

The collection allows readers and scholars easy access to what Nisly describes as “thoughtful, humorous interviews,” which he had found were not readily available when he was researching his 2011 book, “Wingless Chickens, Bayou Catholics and Pilgrim Wayfarers: Constructions of Audience and Tone in O’Connor, Gautreaux and Percy.”
