Stuart and Jill Briscoe speakers at St. John Mennonite Mission Conference March 2-3

 

National and International speakers and authors, Stuart and Jill Briscoe, will speak at St. John Mennonite’s Mission Festival, set for March 2-3.  The church is located at 15988 Road 4, Pandora. 

Stuart has preached in over 100 countries and written more than 40 books. Jill is highly sought-after Bible teacher and has authored more than 40 books. Their daily radio and internet Bible teaching broadcasts are heard all around the world.

Jill will be speak to women attending the conference on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on “Eight Choices that Create a Love that Lasts.” A brunch is served at 11 a.m., with door prizes, fellowship, and worship throughout the morning.  Two mission organizations will be highlighted, Rally Point in Lima, and Global Disciples.  Tickets for the brunch are available for $6 each.

Saturday evening, Stuart Briscoe speak to the men attending the conference.  Stuart will challenge the men with his talk “Being a Man of Real Impact.”  Also speaking is Tom Rode, AIA Chaplin for The Ohio State University. Tickets for the evening event, which includes dinner, are $6.

On Sunday, March 3, Briscoe will speak at both the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services at St. John Mennonite Church. Then, during the joint Sunday School hour at 9:45 a.m., both Jill and Stuart talk.  People are welcome to attend any session.

Sunday evening, the Briscoe’s will be speaking at a dinner co-hosted by St. John Mennonite Church and Ebenezer Mennonite Church. The dinner will be held at Ebenezer Mennonite, 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton. The focus of their talk is “Reaching out to Others.”  The dinner begins at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $10.

Stuart’s Background
• Born 1930 in Millom, Cumbria, England into a Christian home, began preaching at age 17 Met wife Jill at Capernwray Hall in England at youth conference. They married in 1958. Left careers in banking and teaching to enter full-time ministry in 1959. Moved to U.S. in 1970 at invitation of Elmbrook Church to become senior pastor. Church had 300 members
• Stepped down as senior pastor of Elmbrook Church in 2000 and returned to global outreach as Elmbrook’s ministers-at-large
• Has preached in more than 100 countries
• Authored over 50 books, including his life memoirs Flowing Streams (August 2008, Zondervan)
Jill's Background
• Born in Liverpool, England in 1935
• Graduate of Merchant Taylors’ School and Hemerton College, Cambridge in 1955
• Taught in Liverpool upon graduation and initiated an outreach ministry to youth of the city
• Authored more than 40 books, including Bible study guides, devotionals, poetry, and children’s books
• Served on the Board of Directors for World Relief and Christianity Today for over 20 years
• Executive Editor of Just Between Us, a magazine for ministry wives and women in church leadership
• Sought after speaker and author who ministers with Stuart at conferences, conventions and retreats worldwide
