Look up

Bluffton elementary student holiday art – well, you can't miss it when you shop at Community Market. Look up and you will find cardinals by first graders, starry landscapes by second graders, textured trees by third graders, symmetrical nutcrackers by fourth graders and stained glass rose windows by fifth graders.  Nicole Anderson is the elementary art teacher. Girl Scouts ask residents of area retirement house developments

Icon viewers:
Did you know?

Residents at Bluffton area retirement housing developments were asked by a local Girl Scout troop "What problem could we help you solve?" The residents said: Better snow and ice removal so that we can get around in the winter.

When you look at snow and ice conditions at your place of business, could you navigate the area with a walker, cane, wheelchair, or stroller?

It is our responsibility and a good business practice to promptly remove snow from sidewalks and parking lots.

Ohio Wesleyan slips past Beavers

Loss drops Bluffton to 6-2

The Bluffton University women's basketball team traveled to Ohio Wesleyan University on Tuesday, Dec. 17, to take on the Battling Bishops in a non-conference tilt.

After coming back from an 11-point deficit, the Beavers were unable to finish off the comeback bid. The visitors came up just short, 68-63, in their final matchup before the holiday tournament. Bluffton slipped to 6-2 overall, while OWU improved to 5-4 on the season.

Sandhill cranes passing over Bluffton

At least one large flock of sandhill cranes was spotted recently in the skies over Bluffton.

To be more exact it's a construction, dance, sedge, siege or swoop of cranes  – not a flock.

Jodi Brauen shared this photo and the Icon has heard from other viewers that they have also spotted these large birds in the area.
