Riley Creek Festival set for Saturday

Bluffton University will host the annual Riley Creek Festival beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, on the Neufeld Hall lawn.

“Out of This World” is the theme of this year’s festival, a day of games, prizes, live music and other entertainment. The event is free—except for lunch—and open to the public. Lunch, to be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is $7 for adults and $5 for children.

The traditional rubber duck race down Riley Creek will wrap up the festival at 4 p.m. Rubber ducks will be sold for $1 each, with proceeds to benefit the Pitseng Internet Project. The project is an initiative organized by Bluffton students to bring computers and Internet access to the people of Pitseng, Botswana, where the students will travel in May for a cross-cultural experience.

In case of rain, events will move to Bob’s Place, in Marbeck Center; Founders Hall’s Burcky Gymnasium; and the Sommer Center for Health and Fitness Education.
