Trinity Lutheran to hold Thanksgiving Day service

A Thanksgiving Day service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 26.

The men’s choir will sing “Now Thank We All our God” and the church will be decorated with harvest items.

Chappell-Dick to run in NCAA Division III cross country champs Nov. 21

Hannah Chappell-Dick, a Bluffton High School graduate and a senior at Eastern Mennonite University, has qualified for the 2015 Division III NCAA Cross Country Championships in Winneconne, Wisc.  The meet takes place Saturday, Nov. 21. The top 35 finishers earn All-American status.

Take a horse and wagon ride on Nov. 28

How does a horse and wagon ride sound? On Saturday, Nov. 28, following the Blaze parade, you can view the lights of South Main Street, Bluffton. J.A. Smith'sTown and Country Carriage Services of Van Wert, will provide the horse and wagon. Rides will embark and end at Common Grounds. Members of the SHANNON Service Club will sell tickets inside Common Grounds.

Survey shows wide-spread agreement for Shannon Cemetery memorial made of tombstones; not replacement of 'stones where they were found

Results from the Shannon Cemetery Commission survey reveal wide-spread agreement across the Bluffton community for support for a memorial made of tombstones, but not for replacement of the tombstones to where they were found.

The findings of the survey created by commission member Harriet Moyer were released at the most recent meeting of the commission.

The survey offered four concepts for participants to rate.
