I-75 construction update south of Bluffton

Work on Interstate 75 south of Bluffton will experience distruptions next week. Here's the update.

NEW IMPACT
• Beginning Aug. 7, northbound passing lane at SR 696, Beaverdam, will be shifted to the southbound side.

• SR 696 exit ramp from I-75 northbound will close Aug. 11 for five days for a culvert replacement.

• Detour:­­­­­­­­­­­ I-75 northbound to SR 103/Bentley Rd. to I-75 southbound back to SR 696 (see map).

Planning commission meets Aug. 10

Bluffton Planning Commission will meet Monday, Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m.  in the town hall at 154 N. Main St., according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.

Governor DeWine, First Lady Fran DeWine, and staff all test negative for COVID-19

In a second test administered today in Columbus, Governor Mike DeWine has tested negative for COVID-19. First Lady Fran DeWine and staff members have also all tested negative for COVID-19.

A PCR test was administered to the Governor and members of his staff this afternoon.  The PCR test looks for the specific RNA for the SARS CoV-2 -- in other words, the genetic material specific for the virus that causes COVID-19.

School releases free and reduced price meals guidelines

Bluffton schools announced its 2020-21 program year policy for free and reduced price meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

Ohio Gov. DeWine tests positive for covid-19

Today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine took a test for COVID-19 as part of the standard protocol to greet President Donald Trump on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. 

Governor DeWine tested positive.  Governor DeWine has no symptoms at the present time.

Governor DeWine is returning to Columbus where he and First Lady Fran DeWine, who also has no symptoms, will both be tested.

Governor DeWine plans to follow protocol for COVID-19 and quarantine at his home in Cedarville for the next 14 days.
