Marcene Martz was active in the Bluffton American Legion Auxiliary

Marcene S. Martz, 89, of Bluffton died Oct. 19, 2013 in Mesquite, Texas.  She was born May 14, 1924, in Hancock County to Swan D. and Harriet Ewing Stonehill. On Oct. 20, 1946 she married Donald Martz and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2001.

She retired from Ex-Cell-O Corp., Bluffton where she was a receptionist. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bluffton where she had served as secretary of the church board, sang in the choir and was a member of United Methodist Women.

She was also a member of the Ex-Cell-O Retirees Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Bluffton Senior Citizens and the Telesis Club. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Tiffin College.

Mrs. Martz is survived by two daughters, Janet (Tony) Bash of Houston, Texas, Barbara (James) Blackstone of Rockwall, Texas, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Tammy Martz of Sharpsburg, Ga., and two brothers, Charles (Evelyn) Stonehill of Cridersville, and Richard Kent (Emily) Stonehill of Lima. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack David Martz, and a brother, James Stonehill.

Funeral services will begin at 10 am Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Bluffton.  Rev. Kimberly Miller will officiate.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
