Saturday open house at Grob invites community to tour its state-of-the-art facility

Grob Systems of Bluffton invites the community to an open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20.

The open house enables the community to learn more about Grob's products and workplace. The plant is at 1070 Navajo Drive, on the east side of Interstate 75.

Grob Systems engineers and manufactures production equipment primarily for the automotive industry. Those wishing to tour Grob's state-of-the art production facility will have the opportunity to see Grob's products in operation, tour its designated apprentice training area and view its mechanical engineering facility. 

The open house will also include door prizes and refreshments.

Grob Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of Grob-Werke GmbH & Co. KG, located in Mindelheim, Germany. Grob Systems started their operations in Bluffton in 1991.

The Grob Group currently consists of manufacturing facilities in Germany, Brazil, United States and China. In addition to these sites, they also have sales and service facilities globally.  The Grob Group in whole employs approximately 4,200 employees worldwide.

Grob Systems, which engineers and manufactures equipment in Bluffton, is currently undergoing a 90,000-square-foot expansion scheduled tfor completion in January. 2015. 

The Bluffton facility employs approximately 380 people, including 16 first-year apprentices who will complete classroom instruction and hands-on training. The apprenticeship program, which began in 1990, has placed 240 persons in the mechanical and electrical apprenticeship program.
