Bluffton University senior wins full graduate scholarship to BGSU

Victoria Myers, a senior from New Franklin, Ohio, is Bluffton University’s third recipient of a full scholarship to Bowling Green State University’s master of accountancy program.

Myers has earned the Beaver-Falcon MAcc Scholarship, a Bluffton-Bowling Green partnership that includes a full-tuition award plus a paid graduate assistantship for a Bluffton accounting graduate.

A 2011 graduate of Manchester High School, Myers is majoring in both accounting and business administration at Bluffton, where she is a C. Henry Smith Scholar. She is also a member of the university’s Honors Program and an intern for the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. Her research interests include accounting history.

Beginning in fall 2015, Myers plans to pursue the taxation track of study at Bowling Green. Her graduate assistantship work can be completed in the areas of research, teaching or general program support. Completion of the master’s program will give her the 150 hours of study required to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam.

“We applaud Victoria for this very impressive and well-deserved accomplishment, and we certainly appreciate the partnership with BGSU,” said Dr. Jason Swartzlander, an associate professor of accounting at Bluffton. “The fact that Bowling Green provides this annual scholarship is a testament to the talented students at Bluffton.”
