Webb and Huff named All-HCAC

BLUFFTON, Ohio - A pair of Bluffton University women in their first year of collegiate soccer have been named Honorable Mention All-Heartland Conference for their work on the pitch in 2014. Sophomore Terrill Webb (Kenton) and freshman Brittany Huff (Union/Northmont) were both rewarded when the HCAC announced its top players this season.

Webb showed no ill effects from the injury that kept her off the field during her first year at Bluffton as she led the Beavers in scoring with nine goals (fifth in the HCAC). The talented forward took 45 shots this season, including 26 on frame and two game winners for Bluffton. After being forced to the sideline for the entirety of her freshman year, Webb made her mark in track with a first-place finish and HCAC meet-record pole vault of 11' 6.25". She established a new school record in the process, showing that she was ready to get back on the field this fall.

Although just a freshman, standout Brittany Huff helped Bluffton take up the slack in back following the graduation of four-year All-HCAC performer Aimee Whitmer who returned to Bluffton in September as a graduate assistant for the Heidelberg University women's soccer team. Huff's powerful leg was featured on defense for much of the season, but she added to Bluffton's weaponry up front late in the year. She found the back of the net four times, including twice on free kicks against Transylvania at Steinmetz Field. Huff led the team with three assists and her 11 total points put her second on the scoring list behind Webb's 18 points.

In conjunction with the All-HCAC selections, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference also announced the All-HCAC Sportsmanship Team for the fall of 2014. Senior DANIELLE MCQUILLIN (Delta/Pike-Delta-York) was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team from Bluffton. This award has been developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition.

Bluffton wrapped up its season with a 4-13-1 record, including a 1-7-1 mark in the conference. Full statistics and information on the Bluffton women's soccer program are available online at www.blufftonbeavers.com/womenssoccer.
