Dorothy Skelly, 95, was a retired Bluffton business woman

Retired Bluffton business woman Dorothy D. Skelly, 95, of Bluffton, died at 10:20 p.m. Nov. 16, 2014, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born June 21, 1919, in Dayton to the late Charles and Sarah Ball Cox.  On May 3, 1942, she married John B. Skelly and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1991.

Mrs. Skelly worked at Skelly Pharmacy in Bluffton and McComb, and owned Skelly Driver's Ed School and Cottage Gift Haus both of Bluffton. 

She was a graduate of the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home, Xenia, a member of Bluffton Senior Citizens, the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton and the AXP Association, Xenia. 

Survivors include a son, John R. (Bobbi) Skelly of Ironton, a daughter, Barbara Mikesell of Bluffton,  three grandchildren, Heath R. (Nichole) Mikesell of Bluffton, Heather A. (Jason) Rutan of Springfield, Terese A. (Matthew) Skelly Kuehne of Wheelersburg,  and five great grandchildren, Jessica Brockert, Cobie Mikesell, Levi Mikesell, Claire Rutan and Jack Rutan. 

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Reece Mikesell, a son-in-law, Kenneth Mikesell and four brothers, Paul, Lawrence, Earl and Charles Cox.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Kimberly Miller will officiate. 

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Public Library or the charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
