Fox TD named HCAC Play of the Year

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Bluffton University running back Eric Fox (Brunswick) was voted as the HCAC Play of the Year. The senior earned the title after voting took place on the HCAC social media outlets of Facebook and Twitter.

Fox's winning play was a five-yard touchdown reception on 4th and goal with a leap into the end zone to knot up the score at 7-7 in Bluffton's 20-14 win over Hanover College.

It marks the second straight year that a Bluffton player has garnered the HCAC Play of the Year following Shawn Frost, the 2013 winner. Frost earned the title with a one-handed touchdown grab from quarterback Nick Sheehan (Monroeville, Ind./Heritage) late in the fourth quarter against Earlham last season.

The final voting tally saw Fox garner 51 percent of the vote, holding off teammate Miguel Alicea's (Westerville/South) 29 percent. Jack Tomlinson (Westerville/South) was also a Play of the Week honoree in 2014 after he laid out along the sideline and made a spectacular one-handed catch early in the game against Mount St. Joseph on November 1.

The poll was distributed on the HCAC Twitter (@HCACDIII) and Facebook pages Monday, Nov. 24, with voting ending Wednesday morning.
