The Voice for BHS girls' basketball and volleyball games - Stan Hunt - celebration of life Tuesday

Stanley E. Hunt, 51, died Dec. 11, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 7, 1963, in Defiance to Howard L. and Mary Ann (Wiseman) Hunt who survive in Lima.

He graduated from Elida High School in 1981. He was owner/operator of Top Quality Cable. Stan had coached girls basketball and softball teams for BFR and Bluffton Diamond Sports. 

He was the announcer "The Voice" for Bluffton girls basketball and volleyball games. He sang the national anthem at many of the games. He played in the Monday night Bluffton golf league with his father. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton, where he was past president of church council and sang in the choir. 

Survivors also include three daughters Lindsey (Tyler) Wyman of Climax, Michigan, Liza Hunt of Dayton and Olivia Hunt of Bluffton. Also surviving are three grandsons Maddox, Gunner and Tucker. Also surviving is a brother Daniel R. (Tracey) Hunt of Lima; his long-term girlfriend Karen Musser of Bluffton; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by a brother Bruce A. Hunt who died July 20, 2007.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton. Pastor Jeremy Mann officiating. 

Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. 

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 N. Phillips Road, Bluffton or Bluffton Athletic Boosters, 106 W. College Avenue, Bluffton, Ohio 45817.
