Here's the revised Pirate football schedule

Bluffton revises football schedule

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton athletic department released a revised schedule for the 2020 varsity football program this week.

A minimum of five more games are scheduled, including the post-season.

The Pirates (1-2) will host winless Northwest Conference rival Delphos Jefferson (0-4) Friday, September 25 for Homecoming. 

On Friday, October 2, they will play at NWC foe Paulding (1-3).

Community meals, Bingo, Friday movies, flu shots and bowling scheduled

Bluffton Senior Citizens can’t wait for October as several programs return to the calendar for its members.

Tonya Meyer, director, said, “We finally have the okay to start programming, but the list of rules and regulations is long. We are going to start with just a few programs in October and will expand every month as long as we all stay healthy.”

If weight loss is your goal, there’s a support group in Bluffton ready to help you.

Bluffton TOPS, which means Take Off Pounds Sensibly, is that group.

Last week members celebrated several weight-loss milestones in a celebration delayed from this past spring due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Three members of the group achieved state-wide recognition for their weight loss, according to Tana O’Donnell, TOPS coordinator.

Their stories are amazing.

Crestview stops Pirates 7-game win streak

Kylie Monday led the team with 18 digs

CONVOY - The visiting Bluffton volleyball team lost in straight sets at Crestview in a Northwest Conference clash Tuesday night. 

Bluffton fell to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in the NWC with the 25-23, 25-12, 25-22 loss that snapped a seven-match win streak.

Crestview improved to 7-4 and 3-0 in the NWC with the win to take over first place in the league standings.

Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirate girls with 18 kills and 13 digs. Taylor Schwab contributed 10 kills.

First and second doubles team wins 2 nights in a row

Bluffton stops St. Marys

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls tennis team defeated visiting St. Marys 3-2 Monday evening.

The victory upped the Lady Pirate record to 4-9 this season.

Freshman Caitlyn Couch won her match at second singles by a 6-4, 6-3 score.

Bluffton seniors Julia Smallcombe and Olivia Barnes teamed up to win at first doubles 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.

Pirate juniors Ellie Nickel and Libby Frazier also combined to win convincingly at second doubles 6-1, 6-3.
