Hilty Preschool and Child Care, Pandora, is hosting a summer and fall registration open house for parents of prospective six-week-old through 12-year-old children from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.
Since 1989, Hilty Preschool and Child Care has provided child care and preschool education in a caring Christian environment. Energetic and experienced staff work with the children to help them learn and develop skills.
Each child receives individual attention with lesson plans specifically aligned with each child’s interest and Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards.
Teachers and aides are CPR certified. Four age groups are served:
• Infants age 6 weeks to 18 months,
• toddlers from 18 months to 3 years,
• preschool from 3 years to 5 years and,
• the school age program from ages 5 through 12.
Following a daily routine, classes include language and literacy, math, science, creative arts, physical motor and daily sensory activities as well as Bible verses, stories and songs.
Play time is an important part of the learning process fostering creativity, friendships, problem-solving abilities and self-expression. In addition to the bright classroom setting, Hilty Preschool and Child Care also offers large outdoor green spaces, including two playgrounds.
The Summer Enrichment Program, beginning May 25, is specially designed for school age children ages 5 through 12. This summer, the weekly curriculum will allow youth to explore various occupations and give them hands on experience through various projects games, small and large group activities, field trips and other more.
During the 12-week program, youth will learn about being an architect, an author, a chef and many other occupations. A full summer commitment is not required. Children can be signed up for their favorite week or take part in as many weeks as they wish.
A $35 registration fee is required to guarantee placement into an open space. For registrations received during the March 22 open house, the registration fee will be waived.
Hilty Preschool and Child Care is open Monday through Friday, 5:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. A two-day per week minimum is required for registration. Full day preschool and morning preschool (8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.) programs are available.
As a part of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Hilty Preschool and Child Care is housed in Hilty Home’s main building at 304 Hilty Drive, Pandora. It creates the opportunity for unique intergenerational interaction and activities that enhance the experience of the children, as well as the elders served at Hilty Home.
