Bluffton University senior recipient of BGSU graduate scholarship

Joseph Wilson, a senior from Covington, Ohio, is Bluffton University’s first recipient of a new scholarship to a Bowling Green State University graduate business program.

Wilson has earned the Beaver-Falcon Master of Financial Economics Scholarship, a Bluffton-Bowling Green partnership that includes a two-thirds tuition award. The recipient, chosen by the Bluffton business faculty, is also encouraged to apply for an assistantship within the Bowling Green program.

Wilson is majoring in mathematics and minoring in economics at Bluffton, where he is a member of Camerata Singers.

The financial economics scholarship is the second one available to Bluffton seniors who are interested in graduate business programs at Bowling Green. A similar scholarship, to BGSU’s master of accountancy program, has been offered for three years.

“The granting of these graduate program scholarships demonstrates the solid academic preparation that a Bluffton University education provides,” said Gary Schiefer, an associate professor and undergraduate business department chair at Bluffton. “We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the graduate programs at Bowling Green State University in the future.”
