Don Luginbuhl served 29 years in the U.S. Army

Don Robert Luginbuhl, 58, died April 9, 2015 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.  He was born June 20, 1956, in Bluffton to Robert and Allene (Stuber) Luginbuhl who preceded him in death. On Sept. 26, 1987, he married Denise (Thompson) Luginbuhl and she survives.

Mr. Luginbuhl served 29 years with the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Commissioned Office Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" Device and 20 year device. 

He later became a meat cutter for A-Z Meats, Bluffton. He was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton.  

Survivors also include four sons Derek Luginbuhl, Drew Luginbuhl, Drake Luginbuhl all of Bluffton and Jason Luginbuhl; daughter Jodi (fiancee James King) Luginbuhl of Lima; three grandchildren Landon, Xavier and Dallas Luginbuhl; four brothers James Luginbuhl of Amelia, Paul (Penny) Luginbuhl of Jamestown, Milo (Deb) Luginbuhl and Phillip (Debbie) Luginbuhl of Bluffton; four sisters Nancy (Thomas) Frick of Pandora, Muriel (Hillel) Furlager of Skokie, Ill., Martha (Charles) Powell of Ottawa, Ruth Ann (Douglas) Beach of Jenera; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law David (Dixie) Thompson of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Judi Luginbuhl.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Pastors Dick Potter, David Thompson, Jim King, Charles Warren, and Kathy Brauen officiating.

Burial will  be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton where military rites will be performed.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
