Dorothy Robinson retired to Bluffton in 1987

Dorothy Banks Robinson, 90, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born on Sept. 3, 1924 in Warren, the daughter of the late Russell and Agnes Klingemier Banks.

Following her graduation from Champion High School as the class valedictorian, she worked for several years at the Champion High School and subsequently the Union Savings and Trust Co. 

On June 23, 1951, she married Arnel Robinson. He died in 2007. Dorothy and Arnel made their home initially in Champion, moving to Findlay, in 1964 and then following retirement in 1987 to Bluffton.

Dorothy returned to the workforce, working at Sears in Findlay for seven years following her children’s graduation from high school.   

She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada, and enjoyed attending Sunday school class.

Survivors include four children,  Mary Lou (Jerry) Mejeur of Marion,  Nancy (Roger) Rhodes of Bluffton,  Dan (Yi-Mi) Robinson of Ann Arbor, Mich.,  Mark (Nan) Robinson of Brighton, Mich.,  seven grandsons, Jason (Jessica) Rhodes, Adam Rhodes, Eric (Tonia) Rhodes,  Matthew, Michael, Alec, and Will Robinson, six granddaughters, Erin (Ritchie) Shuster, Kelly (Brad) Dutton, Tracy Mejeur,  Kaite Rhodes, Elise Robinson and Anna Robinson, seven great grandsons and four great granddaughters. 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles R. Banks and her sister, Mary E. Banks. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church of Christ, 4014  U.S. Route 30, Ada. The Rev. Brandon Mayden will officiate.  

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private committal services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests contributions to the Bethel Church of Christ.
