Pirate wrestlers runner-up in NWC event; BHS has four individual champs

Bluffton High School wrestlers finished second in the Northwest Conference wrestling championship held this past weekend at Paulding. BHS scored 243 points behind champ Dephos Jefferson with 271 points.

The Pirates led the way with four individual champions and three are underclassmen. Jefferson and Allen East each had three.

Allen East took third at 222 points. Jefferson's title was their third overall NWC wrestling championship having previously won the league title in 2012 and 2015.
 
Allen East senior Brandon Soules (152) was named Wrestler of The Year in the NWC in a vote by the coaches.  Mike Wilson of Jefferson was voted by his peers as NWC Coach of The Year.
