Byron "Barney" Spallinger was a graduate of Beaverdam High School

Byron “Barney” Spallinger, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of the late Arlene (Reiff) Spallinger who died in 2008.

Born Jan. 19, 1928, in Beaverdam, Ohio he was the son of the late Homer and Elizabeth (Augsburger) Spallinger. Mr. Spallinger was a graduate of Beaverdam High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Air force from March 1952 to March 1956. He attended Air Force Tech School at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas and completed the Aircraft Mechanic Course. He finished his service at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona as an Aircraft Mechanic.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Ann Dubost and her husband, Jonathan of Collegeville, and Joseph David Spallinger and his wife, Michele, of Lansdale; his grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Ashley, Jonathan, and Andrew Dubost, Patrick and Joey Spallinger, and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother Paul Spallinger and first wife Anna Marie Bartsch of Newton and Topeka Kansas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, at New Eden Fellowship Church, 609 Main St. Schwenksville, Penna., 19473, where friends may call for the viewing from 10-11 a.m..

Interment will follow at Lower Skippack Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Liberty Ministries, 565 Main Street, P.O. Box 87 Schwenksville, PA 19473. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.rlwilliamsfuneralhome.com.
