In just six weeks Bluffton will celebrate “The night before Christmas.”

No, it won’t be Christmas eve. It’s the 33rd annual Blaze of Lights, a Thanksgiving weekend event, that draws hundreds of visitors to the community. This year’s Blaze is Saturday, Nov. 30.

The Blaze doesn’t just happen. It involves countless volunteers, the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce and the village Cultural Affairs Committee.

Dare to Dream tickets available for Nov. 6 event

The annual event has generated over $82,000 for the Bluffton bike and pedestrian pathways

Bluffton Lions Foundation announces its 6th annual Dare to Dream wine tasting and auction.

This year’s event begins at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Crimson Lane Event Venue, 4600 County Road 1, Ada.

The evening is a fund-raiser to support the Bluffton pathway project and other Lions Club projects.

Since its inception Dare to Dream events have raised over $82,000 for the Bluffton bike and pedestrian pathways. The Foundation and club have built over five miles of pathway thanks to the support of the community.

BLUFFTON - The homestanding Bluffton football team stuck to the ground and ran past last-place Delphos Jefferson 42-14 in a Northwest Conference contest Friday night.

The Pirates dominated their last home game of 2019 by running the ball - they did not throw a single pass en route to rolling up 377 rushing yards.

Delphos scored the first touchdown, but then Bluffton reeled off 35 unanswered points to pull away from a close game at halftime and win handily.

Unbeaten Mount St. Joe stops Beavers

Leondre Dean led the Beaver defense with 10 tackles

The Bluffton University football team traveled down I-75 today to take on conference foe Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. The MSJ defense was too much for the Beavers in a 38-14 victory that kept the Lions unbeaten (6-0, 4-0 HCAC) on the year.

The home team would get on the scoreboard first when Cornell Beachem rushed for a 62-yard touchdown to put MSJ up 7-0 with 7:07 left in the first quarter.
