There’s a Bluffton connection to this story – read on:

The Division I NCAA third-ranked Ohio State men’s gymnastics team captured the 2016 Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Championship April 1 in front of a hometown crowd of 1,579 at St. John Arena.

The Buckeyes secured their 13th Big Ten title overall and first since 2007.

Alec Yoder, grandson of Alan and Diann Yoder of Bluffton, played a huge part in OSU’s finish.

Yoder was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year after winning a conference title on pommel horse in the finals. He also finished fourth on the high bar and seventh on the rings, claiming runner-up honors in the all-around. Yoder finished in the top five of three events.
