Bob Harris was owner of Bluffton / Findlay KOA

Robert M. "Bob" Harris, 75, of Bluffton, died at 5:49 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2016, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Bob was born April 12, 1941, in San Diego, Calif., to the late Merrill and Bernice (Pederson) Harris. On Nov. 14, 1992 he married Elaine (Eck) Harris who survives in Bluffton.

Bob was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Marines, serving as a Captain and pilot. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Bob was a graduate of the University of Colorado and retired in 1995 as a CPA and Federal Auditor for the United States Government.

He and his wife have owned and operated Bluffton / Findlay KOA, formerly Twin Lakes Park since 1992. Bob was a member and former treasurer of the Ohio Campground Owners Association (OCOA). He was a member of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC), Bluffton Sportsmen's Club, Bluffton Lions Club, Loyal Order of the Moose #698, Findlay, life member of the VWF and a member of the American Legion Post #382, Bluffton.

Survivors include: two children, Parm (Tina) Harris of Greenup, Ky., and Shawna (Brian) Lester of Wheelersburg; three step-children, Joy (Skip) Burleson of Lima, Kenny R. Gossard of Findlay and Kevin A. Gossard of Arlington; daughter-in-law, Candace Gossard of Bluffton; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and sister, Karoline (Steven) Lange of Littleton, Colo.

He is preceded in death by a step-son, Kristopher S. Gossard.

Funeral Services will begin 10 am Saturday, July 9, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton Chapel.  Pastor Terry Steinhauer Sr., will officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains at sea will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, at the funeral home.
