Right-hand turn lane being installed at Thayer and US 30

This week U.S. 30 eastbound at Thayer Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for the addition of a right-hand turn lane at the intersection. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

FROM ADA ICON - Austin, we understand you are putting together your third annual Cursive Ohio Cystic Fibrosis charity bicycle ride in Ada. Tell us about it.

Austin: The event is Saturday, Aug 31, and registration starts at 7 a.m. A 64-mile loop starts at 8:30 a.m. The 32- and 15-mile loops start at 9 a.m. Lunch will start being served at 11 a.m. 

Where does ride begin?
In the Ada Memorial Park. The entrance is at 3645 County Road 50.

Bluffton's water: where does it come from and where does it go?

The library is hosting an information session on Bluffton's Water at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29 in the lower level meeting room. Wessler Engineering and the Village of Bluffton are co-presenting this session. Please register at the library at 419-358-5016.

Lettering workshop at the library on Aug. 26

The library is offering a Lettering workshop on Monday, Aug. 26 from 6-7 p.m., which allows participants to learn more about the art of hand lettering. This workshop is for ages 12 and above, and although the event is free, the library requests you register.

MMH concert on the lawn is cancelled

A heavy late afternoon thunderstorm has cancelled the Mennonite Memorial Home's concert on the lawn, planned for this evening, Sunday, Aug. 18. There is no reschedule date.

The Icon stopped into the Bluffton Child Development Center last week and discovered snow had fallen inside the building. Actually, it's fake snow, but in August, it's fun to think that it's real. Here's a view of the snow activity in the 4-year-old class from above the action.
