Men's Soccer drops 4-0 decision to Franklin

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team hosted Franklin College in a Heartland Conference clash on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. The Grizzlies took a 3-0 lead at the break and added an own goal with a little over a minute to play for a 4-0 victory over the Beavers. Bluffton slipped to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Franklin improved to 1-6-4 and 1-1-1 with its first victory of the season.

Matt Hardman-Zimmerman (Forest City, Penn.) collected seven saves and fellow senior Blake Drewes (Archbold) led the offense with three shots, including two on frame. The visitors posted an 18-8 edge in shots, including 11-2 on target. Franklin forced 10 corner kicks, to just one for the Beavers, but the visitors were whistled for two more fouls (11-9)

Bluffton hits the road on Wednesday, Oct. 12, for a meeting with Mount St. Joseph. The match is slated for 7 p.m. in Cincinnati.
